COP17 · Yerevan, Armenia · 19 to 30 October 2026
IEG at COP17
International Environmental Guardianship (IEG) will be in Yerevan, Armenia, for the Convention on Biological Diversity’s 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17).
COP17 is a vital opportunity to elevate the rights of nature and communities, and to promote conditions for trust, in emerging nature markets. In all its engagements, the IEG will advance its objective to dignify life in all its forms, to support the rights of nature, and to strengthen territorial governance for the guardianship of nature.
With less than four years until 2030, the IEG calls upon Parties and observers to accelerate and scale up implementation at COP17, while ensuring ethical practice and transparency in nature markets, and the primacy of communities and their rights.
